This tutorial assumes you are familiar with your version of PSP and know where your tools are located. Workspaces can differ, therefore the screenshots and directions for the location of the tools used may not be accurate in your workspace. If you have problems finding a particular tool, use the program's help file and type the tool name into the "find" window. Be sure to read my TOU before working this tutorial. Supplies
Needed: These supplies
MuRa's Meister Copies filter You will also need another tube of your choice. I used a tube from the artwork of Brian Rood, and cannot share it. But you may use anything you'd like. Please support this artist by visiting his site. First open the tube you have chosen to use. Also open the tube I provided.
If your tube doesn't match my
diamonds and pearls tube, you can use PSP's color to target function to
change the diamonds and pearls I provided for you. You click on the
"change to target" icon After you have done the above steps, you are ready to begin the tagging part. So, let's get started...Remember to save as a psp file OFTEN.
1. Begin by opening the font and minimize to your task bar. Then, in PSP, open my diamonds n pearls tube, your main tube, and create a new image with these settings:
2. With the diamonds and pearls image active, hit Ctrl + C to copy. After copying, you can close it out, you wont need it again. 3. With your new image active, hit Ctrl + L to paste the diamonds and pearls tube as a new layer. This will center the tube perfectly, and that's what we need. 4. Go to Effects>MuRa's Meister>Copies and use these settings:
5. Activate your main image. Hit Ctrl + C to copy to the clipboard. After copying, you can close it. 6. Back to the tag we're working on, hit Ctrl + L to paste as a new layer. Use your mover tool to place the tube as you'd like. I placed mine slightly to the left to leave room for my name. 7. Go to Effects>3D Effects>Drop Shadow and use the following settings:
8. Next, grab your text tool with these settings:
And set your foreground/background colors to a dark and light color from your tube. (Dark for foreground/stroke, and light for background/fill.) 9. Arrange your text as you'd like. I went to Image/Rotate/Free Rotate with these settongs:
10. Right click on "Vector 1" layer in layer palette and choose "Conver to Raster Layer". 11. At this point you can add an inner bevel to your text, use SuperBlade Pro, or any other effect you'd like. I used KPT 6's gel on mine. 12. Add a drop shadow same as before. ***TIP ALERT*** Before doing a final save, you can go to Image ->Image Information and click on the "Creator Information" tab. In the description field, add the tutorial url (and other info, such as font used). Then save as a psp file. That information is saved along with the image. The next time you say (to yourself, of course...) "I wish I could remember where that tut is, you will have the information available in the image itself. Cool, huh? 13. Do a final psp save. Now, export your image as a jpg or gif and show off your work! Here is one made by my friend Marion for a MOTW gift to Helen. Thanks Marion for allowing me to display your wonderful results here, and for being my TUT TESTER. :)
This award was presented to me by Sblended PSP for this tutorial. It is with great pride that I display it here :-)
