This tutorial is a spin-off of my 24k
Pink Cashmere tutorial and is for making the tiled
background you see here. Shortly after I released the
24k PC tutorial, I began getting email asking "How did
you make the matching tile?" So, folks...here it is. And
you won't believe how simple it is! :)
If you haven't done my 24k Pink
Cashmere tutorial, please go there now to get the
supplies needed and to create the base for this tile,
working steps 1-8. If you've already done the other
tutorial, and you saved your tag in PSP
format, open your creation, duplicate it (Shift + D or
Window/Duplicate.) and close your original creation.
If you're working on the duplicate of
your sig tag, delete all text layers, then move on to
the steps below.
The steps below follow
step 8 of the previous tutorial.
Go to Layers/Merge All.
Now, go to Effects->Reflection
Effects->Rotating Mirror and choose the default
preset:

Next, go to Effects->Image
Effects->Seamless Tiling. Choose the default preset
again.
Optional: Some colored tiles need to be
sharpened for a nicer diamond appearance, others don't.
Adjust->Sharpness->Sharpen. You can always "Undo"
if it doesn't need it.
***TIP ALERT***
Before doing a final save, you can go to Image
->Image Information and click on the "Creator
Information" tab. In the description field, add the
tutorial url (and other info, such as font used). Then
save as a psp file. That information is saved along
with the image. The next time you say (to yourself, of
course...) "I wish I could remember where that
tut is, you will have the
information available in the image itself.
Cool, huh?
Guess what? Your done. Save as a PSP
file, then export as a jpg. (Gif format may give you
undesired results!) You now have a beautiful seamless
tile to match your elegant 24k tag. Easy, huh? Told ya.
:)
I hope you enjoyed this tutorial
and will check out the rest of the site.
